72hr kits: Here is the link to the list of items you should have in your 72hr kit. Please read through the list and identify the items you already have on hand. These should be gathered and stored in your kit. The items you are missing should be obtained, as you are able. Remember that food, water, and heat should be first priority.
Remember the Rules:
- 5 items or $5.00
- Store what you eat. Eat what you store.
Home Storage: Dairy
Dairy products are the most difficult to store. Canned and powdered milk store well and can be re-constituted with water, and used in cooking and baking. Just don’t expect either one to taste like real milk.
Examples:
- canned milk (use half water half milk to reconstitute)
- powdered milk (follow directions on container)
- powdered sour cream (follow directions on container)
