YSA Sports Nights

The YSA Basketball Nights begin this Wednesday, January 14th. Our ward will play at 8:30 pm at Mt Olympus 3rd Ward Building at 3862 East Oakview Drive off Wasatch Blvd above Churchill Jr High. The complete schedule can be viewed here or here. We need at least five men and five women to play during our assigned time if we wish to 'take the tourney'.

The notes below were part of a handout given in Relief Society on December 28, 2008. They are a summary of the talks "Finding Joy in the Journey", "comeWhat May, and Love It" & "Let Him Do It with Simplicity" from the October 2008 General Conference.

How to live our lives to find happiness and joy and decrease our stress: (according to Pres. Monson, Elder Wirthlin, and Elder Perry)

1. Laugh
2. Seek for the Eternal
3. Understand the Principle of Compensation
4. Trust in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ
5. Adapt to Change
6. Make the most of TODAY
7. Omit nothing from our relationships: leave no room for regrets
8. Say “I love you” and give hugs more often
9. Give thanks more often; to Heavenly Father and to each other
10. Fill ourselves with the right kind of temporal and spiritual food
11. Dress modestly
12. Live within our means and stay out of debt
13. Knowledge = Power; and Spiritual Knowledge = Spiritual Power (or fuel)
