This Week's Preparedness Items
Remember the Rules:
- 5 items or $5.00
- Store what you eat. Eat what you store.
Food Storage: Meat/Protein
There are several options when it comes to protein. Remember, you will have to eat it, so choose options that you are familiar with. If, for instance, you choose to store beans, I would recommend canned beans as opposed to dried. Canned require far less preparation, and are more likely to get used. And they make a great taco soup! The key is easy to store, easy to use.
Examples:
- canned fish, chicken, sausages, etc.
- dried (jerkey)
- Peanut Butter
- Stuff Posing As Meat (SPAM)
- Beans
72 hr. Kit: Bandaids
This one is fairly basic. Just be aware of any allergies, such as latex or adhesives. These can make you very miserable.
Examples:
- flashlight
- small battery powered lantern
- glowsticks
